



















KUMS Receives Visit from UniSIRAJ
Strengthening Strategic Cooperation with the Sheikh Dr Yusuf al-Qaradawi Institute of Thought (IPQ)

The World Union of Muslim Scholars (Malaysia) – KUMS received a visit from Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin International Islamic University (UniSIRAJ) during a meeting held on 19 August 2026 at 2:30 p.m.
The visit represents an important step towards strengthening relations and exploring avenues for strategic cooperation in the fields of scholarship, research, and the development of networks of scholars at both the national and global levels.
The UniSIRAJ delegation was led by:

Key Areas of Discussion
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for collaboration, particularly in relation to the Institute of al-Qaradawi Thought (IPQ).
During the meeting, KUMS expressed its readiness to serve as a strategic partner to IPQ in strengthening and expanding the institute’s role across various areas, including:
Scholarly research and academic studies
Global networks of scholars
Translation of scholarly works
Publication and dissemination of knowledge
Collaborative networks with international institutions and scholars
This collaboration holds significant potential for promoting the thought, works, and scholarly legacy of Sheikh Dr Yusuf al-Qaradawi, ensuring that they continue to be studied, developed, and benefited from by present generations and Muslim communities around the world.
Letter of Intent Signed
As a demonstration of commitment and seriousness in realising the areas of cooperation discussed, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed at the conclusion of the meeting.
The signing marks an important starting point towards establishing a more structured and strategic network of cooperation between KUMS and UniSIRAJ, particularly through the Institute of al-Qaradawi Thought (IPQ).
May this partnership serve as a means of advancing knowledge, strengthening networks among scholars and intellectuals, and giving rise to various beneficial initiatives for the Muslim Ummah—not only in Malaysia but also at the international level.
